January 11 (Renewables Now) - AURA Energi has agreed to buy 50% of a 56-MW repowered wind park owned by Danish wind and solar park operator Eurowind Energy A/S.

According to AURA Energi's statement from last week, the company will buy half of the K/S Thorup-Sletten wind park, located between the municipalities Vesthimmerland and Jammerbugt. The price is said to be in the triple-digit million range. The stake will be held by AURA VE, a subsidiary of AURA Energi.

The project consists of 18 4.3-MW Siemens wind turbines which have replaced 22 older wind turbines. Of the total, 13 turbines make up K/S Thorup-Sletten, while the other are owned by local citizens.

The wind park, which was hooked to the grid last February and inaugurated in September, generates 189,000 MWh a year, enough to supply over 47,000 homes with power.
