December 31 (Renewables Now) - Spanish renewable energy and gas supplier Audax Renovables SA (BME:ADX) this week broke ground on a project to install a 4.48-MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Huelva province, Spain.

The group said it will invest EUR 2.5 million (USD 3.1m) to realise the project, using proceeds from a recent green bond issuance and own money.

The construction site is located in the municipality of Calanas. The solar farm will have 13,560 panels, which will produce some 7.754 GWh of power per year.

The project is part of the company’s strategy to build up its generation portfolio to be able to supply renewable energy to customers from own plants, Audax added.
