Athena Investments A/S (CPH:ATHENA) announced yesterday it has signed an agreement to sell its last remaining wind farm in Poland to a local private investor.
The agreed sale price amounts to EUR 0.5 million (USD 0.57m) and the transaction is expected to be completed this quarter. The funds from the deal will be reinvested in "profitable and accretive" assets, the company said.
The Polczyno wind farm, which was commissioned in August 2006, uses 2 Enercon turbines with a total net capacity of 1.6 MW. Chairman Luca Rovati commented that the particular facility has never been viewed as a strategic asset due to its small size.
Back in 2016, Athena Investments, then known as Greentech Energy Systems A/S, sold three Polish wind projects totalling 108 MW to a unit of EDF Energies Nouvelles for EUR 5.4 million. That transaction left the company with just the Polczyno asset in Poland.
