Argentina’s renewables generated 1,168 GWh of electricity in September, up by 44.3% year-on-year, wholesale electricity market administrator CAMMESA said.
Compared to August, the power output from renewables was down by about 1%, while their share in the nation’s total generation remained at 11%.
The total installed renewable energy capacity in the country grew to 3,734 MW from 3,212 MW in August. Since CAMMESA’s previous power report, 522 MW of wind, solar, biogas and biomass-fired capacity started commercial operation.

The combined output of Argentina’s power plants reached 10,344 GWh, while the country imported 78 GWh, of mainly renewables but also thermal power, CAMMESA said in the report.
