Argentina exports 270,759 t biodiesel in Oct 2014 - report
Nov 18, 2014 - Argentina's biodiesel sector declared exports of 270,759 tonnes last month for an average USD 772.8 (EUR 619.6) per tonne, the lowest price since July 2009, local agriculture news site Valor Soja said Friday.
The government reduced export taxes to 13.18% from 14.76% to partly offset the impact of lower international prices. Including the taxes, the net price averaged USD 671 per tonne.
In the first 10 months of 2014, the sector registered biodiesel exports of 2.18 million tonnes for nearly USD 1.78 billion versus 1.24 million tonnes and USD 1.14 billion a year earlier.
For the local fuel market, the government cut the biodiesel price to ARS 6,943 (USD 815.7/EUR 654) per tonne in October from ARS 7,199 in September.
