December 4 (Renewables Now) - The 19.25-MW Badgingarra solar farm, owned by energy infrastructure investor APA Group (ASX:APA), in Western Australia has been officially opened, the state government announced on Wednesday.

Western Australia's energy minister Bill Johnston attended the ceremony that marked the completion of the AUD-40-million (USD 30m/EUR 27m) project, located in Hill River. The solar park includes nearly 62,000 solar panels that together produce enough power to cover the needs of over 6,000 local homes.

The solar park is the fourth power plant in APA's renewables precinct, which also includes the 130-MW Badgingarra Wind Farm, the 79.3 MW Emu Downs Wind Farm and the 20-MW Emu Downs Solar Farm. Together, the four power plants provide renewable energy for over 220,000 homes in Western Australia.
