December 11 (Renewables Now) - Altus Power America Inc said on Monday it has completed the acquisition of a 2.2-MW portfolio of three operational solar plants in the states of Colorado, New Jersey and New Mexico.

The particular portfolio consists of rooftop and carport photovoltaic (PV) arrays, the given capacity of which is in Direct Current (DC). Their annual output of around 2.9 million kWh is being sold to offtakers, among which are a charter school and private corporations.

Altus Power is a Connecticut-based renewables company funded by Goldman Sachs, Global Atlantic Financial Group and FS Investments. It said it purchased the solar assets from “a prominent renewable energy services provider” focused on distributed solar projects, without providing its name and financial details about the transaction.

"Altus Power is focused on aggressively expanding its solar portfolio by both developing greenfield and acquiring operating solar projects," said Gregg Felton, managing partner of Altus. Last month, the company bought a rooftop and carport solar portfolio in New Jersey with a DC capacity of 11 MW.
