Vattenfall, Preem to study use of offshore wind-based H2 in refining
Jun 27, 2022 17:41 CESTTIRANA (Albania), December 30 (SeeNews) - Albania-based electricity trader AGA-SOLAR has applied for a building permit for a photovoltaic park in Darzezë e Re village, near the southwestern city of Fier, the energy ministry said.
The solar park will have an installed capacity of up to 150 MW, the ministry said in a notice earlier this week.
The project's estimated cost was not disclosed
In March, Albania's government signed a contract for the construction and operation of a 100 MW solar park in Spitalle area, near the port city of Durres, with French renewables company Voltalia.
Voltalia has also started preparations for the construction of a 140 MW photovoltaic park in the Karavasta coastal area. The French company won the tender for the construction of the PV park there in May 2020.
Albania produces over 90% of its electricity from hydro power plants, with most of it generated at three power stations along the Drin river, in the northern part of the country.
