Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTTIRANA (Albania), April 25 (SeeNews) – Albania's energy ministry said on Wednesday it has received an application for a building permit for a small hydro power plant (HPP) from local company AB-01 Energji.
The company plans to build a power plant of up to 2 MW on a tributary of the Devoll river near the city of Elbasan, in central Albania, the energy ministry said in a statement.
Last week, the energy ministry received three applications for building permits for HPPs with installed capacity of up to 2 MW each on the Drin river branches, in the northern part of the country.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity from HPPs, most of it from three power plants along the Drin river.
