Adecoagro's sugar, ethanol EBITDA rises 8.3% Y/Y in Q3 2012

Nov 14, 2012 - Latin American agribusiness and renewable energy player Grupo Adecoagro (NYSE:AGRO) booked USD 46.4 million (EUR 36.4m) adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) from its sugar, ethanol and bioenergy operations in the third quarter of 2012, up 8.3% year-on-year.
Adecoagro's total adjusted EBITDA, however, decreased by 18.8% in annual terms to USD 40.7 million, mainly as a result of the seasonally weaker grain producing segment, the company said yesterday.
Adecoagro, which is headquartered in Luxembourg, posted a net loss of USD 2.8 million between July and September 2012, versus a net profit of USD 30.1 million a year earlier.
The company's gross sales revenue, on the other hand, rose by 3.7% in annual terms, to USD 167.6 million.
