Grupo Cobra, part of Spanish builder ACS (BME:ACS), has emerged as the largest winner in Spain’s latest renewables auction, as it has been awarded 1,550 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity, Reuters reports.
The auction for 3,000 MW of renewable energy was held today and the official results are expected by Thursday.
The news agency quoted sources as saying that Endesa (BME:ELE) has won 339 MW, X-Elio 455 MW, and Forestalia 316 MW in the process. Meanwhile, Gas Natural (BME:GAS) said, as cited by Reuters, that it won 200 MW. Solaria, on the other hand, has announced it has secured 250 MW.
Back in May, Spain held an auction for 3,000 MW of renewables in which wind farms won 2,979 MW at EUR 43 (USD 50) per MWh.
