May 4 (Renewables Now) - Spanish infrastructure and renewables group Acciona SA (BME:ANA) announced today it added 1,104 MW of client capacity during the first quarter of 2017 to its Renewable Energy Control Centre (CECOER).
CECOER not only manages the company’s installations but also those of other developers it represents. It helps with the supply and sale of energy to the wholesale electricity market as well as with the detection of any incidents.
The new additions come from plants owned by Eolia Renovables (633 MW) and Grupo Vapat (471 MW). While Eolia's capacity is divided between wind (564 MW) and solar power (69 MW), all of Vapat's capacity comes from Spanish wind farms.
Due to the service contracts with these companies, formalized through Acciona Green Energy Developments, CECOER now manages roughly 12,883 MW, of which 69% corresponds to plants owned by Acciona itself.
