Oct 8, 2014 - German solar project developer Abakus Solar AG and its partner Bouygues Energies & Services have secured an order to build an 8.2-MWp solar system in East Sussex for investor Low Carbon.
This is the second UK solar job for the two companies' joint venture Abakus BYes, the firms said in a statement yesterday. They will commence construction this month and finish the photovoltaic (PV) plant early in 2015.
The facility will use polycrystalline modules and central inverters. Abakus will be in charge of the design, procurement and construction supervision, while Bouygues Energies will take care of the construction works and electrical installation.
The formation of the Abakus BYes joint venture was announced in August this year. The entity is focusing on the provision of turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) services for large scale solar projects in Britain. Its first order, again from Low Carbon, was for a 10.1-MWp solar PV plant in Dorset.
Abakus Solar and Bouygues Energies expect more project contracts in the coming months.
Bouygues Energies & Services is part of the French Bouygues Construction Group.
